Working with the Soil
As proponents of the principles of biodynamic farming the cultivation and care of the vineyard’s soil is of the utmost importance to us. We employ different practices throughout the year to stimulate soil vitality and health which in turn provides beneficial nutrients and oxygen to the vines.
Only organic fertilizers are used in our vineyards and even then only used when and where necessary, primarily in the months of October and November. During the same period every year we plant cover crops of barley, broad beans and clover in alternating vine rows to contribute to the organic richness of the soil.
