TASTING NOTES: “A rich, voluptuous wine, the 2011 Syrah Suisassi is very much about fruit and texture at this stage. It will be interesting to see if more varietal notes develop in bottle. With air, hints of aromatics begin to emerge, but only reluctantly. In this vintage, D’Attoma and Celli used a small amount of whole clusters. Needless to say, it will be interesting to see how the 2011 develops. The explosive finish bodes well for the future, but today, the 2011 is a bit raw”.
